FWIW, I agree with you as far as RPG is concerned. It's good to have pointers, and they were overdue. As far as CL is concerned, however, I agree with Hans. They don't belong there. If you're doing something sophisticated enough to require the use of pointers, you should be doing it in a language like RPG IV or C, not in CL. That's my 2 cents...
