You can definitely have more than one '.'. Isn't it legal to use the URL encoding characters also? I make sure there's a '@', at least one '.' after the '@', at least one character before the '@', at least three characters after the '@', at least one character between the '@' and the last '.' and at least one character after the last '.'.
