Steve

Thanks for stating the obvious to Murali and in much more diplomatic way
than I could have done myself. I'm new to the forum, but have read the
excellent guidelines about how to use it, and I didn't feel it was my place
to just 'jump in' with my first contribution being to make these suggestions
to someone who hasn't read anything never mind the guidelines. I am however
glad someone made the point.

Murali -

I think you need to take a class or buy a book about AS/400 programming in
RPG. It also appears to me that you have a lot to learn about subfile
programming and databases. There are some very good books available at
reasonable prices. Go look in the midrange.com online book store:
http://store.midrange.com/books.htm .

I don't mind helping you, but I expect YOU to have a basic level of
understanding about some things. I also expect you to help yourself
whenever possible. Most of the time I use the midrange forum AFTER I have
exhausted all other avenues.

I would suggest that you start searching for the answers to some of these
questions BEFORE you ask them:

1) on IBM's web site (http://as400bks.rochester.ibm.com),
2) in the FAQs here on midrange (http://faq.midrange.com/data/cache/1.html)
3) or in the forum archives here on midrange
