Leaving >out any indicator assumes you are going to use the (right) BIF. Carel, it's a feature. All the indicators are now optional (as of V4R2) for the I/O operations. The syntax checker will give an error if you put an indicator where none is allowed, but if more than one is allowed, you're free to code any or all of them. Barbara Morris
