I can't think of any downside, once you've got past the tricky part of determining that you don't have one of those rare reliances. (EXTBININT affects fields defined as say 3B 0 in the DDS; presumably if you do have a 3B 0, there was a reason for someone to have picked 3 and not 4...) By the way, for the new (in V4R5, I think) 18B 0 DDS type, RPG always assumes it's an integer, whether or not you specified EXTBININT. Barbara Morris
