Did you get my pointer example?  And the explanation of why you might want to do
this?
My sample program compiled and worked fine.
Oh my God!  Jon goaded me into being a pointer fiend!  And I've never touched

No, you can't do that in ILE RPG.  And even in those 
programming languages where you can do that (such as 
Perl), it's not recommended.
     
What exactly are you trying to do?
