I don't think pointers will help Vini in this case.  What he
has is a number of different customer types, each one with a
different set of required fields in the record.  He wants to
assure that each record has  the appropriate set of required
fields. This sounds like a database design question that I'm
not really qualified to answer.  I'm sure there must be some
good database designers out there who're much more qualified
to help.
