Change your startup program to put the system time stamp to data area.
Rtvsysval qdate &date
chgdtaara ipldate &date
... repeat for qtime.

For waking up ever xx seconds, you can wait at a data queue for xx seconds.
If no data received, do your normal processing. I like data queues because
you get more control. You can send data queue entries to end/re-start or
change the wait time to the data queue and your program wakes up instantly
and processes the data queue entries.

Good Luck,

Subject: obtaining system uptime

I need to get the system uptime or the time when the system was last
booted into a program. An all night review of the books at publib.ibm.com
gives me nothing useful.

I also need something to wake up my program every 120 seconds or
so. Something like signal handlers.

Anyone know how to do this?
