I support this point of view..... I personally feel good about the direction Han's and others are taking RPG. Heaven forbid we might actually have to learn something new. And I feel I have the skill's to support multiple version's of RPG, however the free form stuff has messed up my source code analyzers that worked off fixed columns, but that a very small price to pay. just a small side bar: It would be nice if IBM would include sample code in the RPG library, to correspond with the manual and to demonstrate new enhancements of the language or helpful API's. In my opinion working source code goes a long way in teaching new concepts... my 2 cents, tim > -----Original Message----- > From: Dan Bale [SMTP:dbale@genfast.com] > Sent: Friday, July 30, 1999 8:19 AM > To: RPG400-L@midrange.com > Subject: Re: RPG IV and CF-spec "keep it IBM" > > > > And oh, by the way, Bob, if you don't want the CF-spec, NOBODY'S FORCING > YOU TO > USE IT! > > - Dan Bale > > > > > > +--- > | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! > | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. > | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. > | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. > | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: > david@midrange.com > +---END +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---END
