The rate we are charged seems to be worth it to me and others here.
However, it is top end. We are getting top end people. And I think our
results are top end. But when compared to other rates.....it looks bad.
Or you deal with management that has a focus on one thing. Results are
hard to quantify properly. I personally don't need absolute proof. If
it looks like its good work for the cost then it's good work for the
cost. I don't need proof. But someone else might. And I'm pretty low
on that food chain.....
I have a compass on the subject matter but realize that it's mine and
would never force feed it on someone else...at least on this forum! Get
me offline and you will hear different.

Hi Mike!
I'm not sure I understand this: you think your full cost is fair but you
can't get people to look behind the hourly rate. What else would a
contractor look at? And my take on it is this: if your hourly wage is
fair, you will find takes. If not, you outsource out of the country.
Like you, I'd prefer to avoid the political debate, so I won't comment
on outsourcing, but really, if your rate is fair you will find takers.
You absolutely get what you pay for, unless what you pay is unfairly
subsidized by using workers whose standard of living doesn't come close
to ours... (oops, that was political <grin>).
