Makes a lot of sense...but I don't think the people, even the
principals, would get rich. And that's what a lot of folks want to
do...get rich. Not make a good living, get rich.

This company has a very interesting business model for certain SAP and
Windows technologies....

Is anyone aware of a company that performs this way in the IBM
technologies? Domino, Websphere, Portlet Factory, etc. If not, wouldn't
this be something that someone might be interested in starting?

We have a very good relationship with some companies who do Domino and
Websphere types of development. The problem is that these companies
carry a decent amount of overhead that gets baked into the hourly rate.
We are pretty pleased with the results and generally feel that we are
spending our money wisely. However, it's hard to continuously fight the
popular trends and argue with management all the time. One alternative
we are considering is finding different sources. If there isn't a
company like this in the IBM technologies do other companies have good
experiences with smaller companies or stand alone developers who might
not have the unfortunate overhead? We have needs in the Domino,
Websphere Portal, and Portlet Factory area and would like to make sure
that we review all opportunities.....
