DDM does exist on the mainframe using DB/2 (but not VSAM or other storage techniques), but I don't think (at least last time I checked) it supports TCP. It's all APPN/APPC, meaning SNA.

I think the network control program on the mainframe needs to add the LU2 devices needed to communicate.

Fortunately, there are default. Have not yet found out where these are set.
