Also, your load source drive alone on any version of IBM i supported on a
Power 10 has to be MUCH larger than 3.2GB See

Something is definitely wrong here. The system ASP does not have a 3.2GB
limit. "System ASP" refers to Auxillary Storage Pool - basically disk.
3.2 is chump change nowadays.
Just one of my many lpars

Perhaps you meant memory? I'm not sure what the limits there are.

I'm a programmer, not a hardware guy so I hope this question makes sense.

My company has over 200 clients running Power 10s. These are either P05s
or P10s. For the large majority of those, the only reason they spend the
extra money for the P10 is to get more storage. The memory and processor
limits on the P05 are rarely an issue. However, the 3.2 gb limit on the
system ASP is becoming more so. The price differences between the two
groups is not insignificant. A recent example: P05 with 5-year SWMA ≈
$96,000.00. P10 with 5-year SWMA ≈ $201,000.00

I'm sure everyone is experiencing an explosion of data as we are.

My question is simply this: Is there a way, using VIOS or something else,
to increase the amount of storage available to the server? We are already
using various strategies to move some of the data off the server. Ideally,
it would be nice to be able to have external storage appear as ASP like we
can with the P10s. I'd really love to go into WRKSYSSTS and see System ASP
3200G.

Thanks for any illumination.
