From Douglas Gibbs:
Our current plan is to keep the Base Option 31 and deprecate only the DNS
server commands. The client commands, including NSLOOKUP, will still be
available via Option 31.

Re: nslookup and the demise of option 31.
At my Idea, https://ibm-power-systems.ideas.ibm.com/ideas/IBMI-I-4108
IBM replied with:
<snip>
Greetings, IBMi development confirms that the DNS client applications
(nslookup, dig and host) and NOT impacted by the Discontinuance of Support
memo dated 7 may 2024 and will be fully available for use.
</snip>

I'm still not convinced they realize that the native IBM i commands
nslookup, dig and host are not on a system without option 31. I do not
want to "assume" that these will be rolled over into either base OS or
TC1. Particularly when I think they might believe they already are. So I
replied with:
"I have lpars without option 31. They do not have nslookup, host nor dig.
How do I get these IBM i native commands without loading option 31?"
I'm waiting for that reply.
