Mocha is a pure 5250 client, and your issue shows with pub400.com.
iACS does some kind of prevalidation of a user account before showing the actual signon screen. Do you get the error at the prevalidation stage (not a 5250 screen but a GUI dialog), or at the 5250 screen?
Just for curiosity: Can you sign on by ssh?
Since you say FTP doesn't work, iACS doesn't work, but Mocha works, I'd ask the pub400 folks for help directly. Maybe there is something wrong with your user profile or some internal validation fails with FTP and iACS but succeeds with Mocha.
