It gets worse ( or more amusing if you will ) when I tried to open a case
to get them to send a new QR code. Sorry you need the QR code to open a
case to fix the QR code.

No such “recovery “ information was sent that I’m aware of, then again that
would require the QR code to open……..

Geesh. Security for no reason is not security, it’s obsessive control.

When you setup MFA, you should have gotten recovery codes that can be used
in case your MFA device changed.

Using the recovery code, you should be able to log in, deactivate MFA and
reactivate it with a new QR code to scan.

Now that said, I’m looking at the folder that I save recovery codes and
can’t find one for IBM, which is troubling.

So awhile back I acceded to IBM with the MFA (to get PTF groups,
really?) but OK. They sent me a QR code then life was OK, UNTIL, I had the

changes. Got that. But to get them to send you a new QR code to reconnect
their awful app, you need to scan the QR code, which of course you do not
have. So perfect security, no one can sign on.

Any ideas how to get them to send the new QR code? I’ve tried just
signing on to IBMs website and indicate I need a new code but you guessed
it, need to scan the QR code, in order to get the QR code.

There is a line one needs to draw that says what’s the acceptable risk.
Signing on to get fixes etc. that are authenticated against model/type and
