So awhile back I acceded to IBM with the MFA (to get PTF groups, really?) but OK. They sent me a QR code then life was OK, UNTIL, I had the temerity to upgrade my phone. Different device, so authentication changes. Got that. But to get them to send you a new QR code to reconnect their awful app, you need to scan the QR code, which of course you do not have. So perfect security, no one can sign on.

Any ideas how to get them to send the new QR code? I’ve tried just signing on to IBMs website and indicate I need a new code but you guessed it, need to scan the QR code, in order to get the QR code.

There is a line one needs to draw that says what’s the acceptable risk. Signing on to get fixes etc. that are authenticated against model/type and serial number does not seem to fall into the same category as a banking transaction.
