This.. I have so many customers that don't know how to set up DNS properly
and just add host table entries. VERY bad idea.

Check if you have outdated entries in your hosts table, also.

And, check with IT if the DNS name is only once in DNS. If one hostname
resolves to multiple names, client implementation will use that for some
crude round-robin scheme of load-balancing: Each try hits the next IP
address since the last query.
