As to differences - QShell has always been its own set of utilities. Even though the names are the same as the *nix shells, the parameters are often different. It is very important to look at the QShell documentation. I'm not so sure there have been many "additional commands" added to the Qshell utilities - I might look at some old manuals, if I get curious enough!!

There are also differences in how CCSIDs are used. IIRC, QShell utilities are basically EBCDIC while PASE utilities of the same name are basically ASCII, where that applies.

I'm going to toss in a side comment - this is like using the LUW (Linux/Unix/Windows) SQL documentation in order to see what is on the IBM i - don't do that!!!

Cheers
Vern

If in doubt, just try. Every new release of the OS brought additional commands into the game.
I will note that the syntax looks more like the Mac OS version than the Debian version.
