Hi Paul

that looks like it. Is there a firewall between you and the HMC ?
You have the right IP address and ssh specified in putty, right ?

Besides these steps below, it there more.

o

Enable remote command execution
Users and Security>Systems and Console Security
Enable Remote Command Execution

o

Configure the HMC firewall to allow remote ssh connections
HMC Management > Console Settings> Change Network Settings, Lan Adapters
Tab, Select the interface used for remote access, click Details, then the
Firewall tab. Secure Shell will be selected by default, click Allow
Incoming button, then OK, OK to save.

o

Obtain a ssh client such as PuTTY

Normally I just SSH onto the HMC - but the service needs to be turned
on/allowed via the GUI.

Alternate way to capture PEDBG data. Use IBM’s MustGather tools.

Lots of other data gathering and transmission options.

I've never used command line access with the new HMC code, where is

it, how does one access it.

Also, putty to the HMC is timing out, what needs to change to resolve
this.

I need to gather data for IBM support.
