Unless I’m missing a part of the thread, this was about network server storage. In that case they are all communication devices, therefore *CMN as opposed to *STG.

Larry and others have identified the real problem and the solution is to dynamically add the devices, (Larry’s script command) and the save the profile so on next IPL you don’t lose them.

Definitely no.

If you're using a HMC and the hosting LPAR is running, you can use

dynamic

partitioning. This is *only* showing up in HMC when the to-be-modified

LPAR

is already running. Then the resources will show up in the hosting LPAR's
DSPHDWRSC.

Don't forget to save the changed partition settings back to the profile,
if Sync is disabled!
