You can add the devices to the host lpar dynamically using Larry's command. This is the way I do it since IBM has done a fantastic of obfuscating how you do anything with the new GUI. They've adopted the Linux mentality that no one uses GUI for anything except reporting. Command line is king even more in Linux than IBM i.

I normally add them dynamically. Then I copy the "current configuration" to the partition profile so that if I IPL the host from profile it doesn't lose what I've done. I find that easier than trying to modify the host profile and the current profile. If you're paranoid you can always copy the existing profile to a "backup" profile prior to copying the current configuration over it.
