Hello Joe,

But it's time to look for a replacement

May I ask for reasons to do so? Since the machines are incredibly reliable, I think age of hardware isn't a big issue. Using a newer OS would be a reason, maybe?

I know there are a few free solutions and I know there at least one or two hosting vendors here. All I'm looking for is a development partition I can connect to via RDi. I'd love to have a web server just so I can play around with various server-side web technologies, and that's about it. I have a lot of small libraries, which tends to rule out someone like PUB400.

Holger has a lot more offers besides PUB400. Not all free, of course. Maybe write him directly?

Maybe it boils down to the question if you want 95% control of the machine (than go for your own), or if you don't care about hardware and dependencies to a working internet connection. Also, backups are a thing to consider.
