Trivially simple, really. Before you start assure that all FC paths are active. Then do the SAN upgrade. You get some 'path missing' errors at worst as each of the nodes restarts. Nothing goes down. It has always been that way for any IBM i supported SAN.

Also simple: Shut down the PowerHA bits (Don't need to stop replication!) do PTFs/upgrades etc, restart PowerHA bits.

Usually we do the target first then flip then do the source and then flip back.

Wanna know the best part? The SANs continue replication while you do the PTFs and / or OS UPgrade!!! So you're not even behind when you're done.
