It seems to me that the paradigm we should be looking at is encapsulating
business logic in the IBM i in Service Programs and use whatever to build
GUI. The GUI presents screens and sends messages to the back end as a
stream and receives responses as a stream. The IBM i is the databases and
the business logic connected to the GUI via messages. XML or JSON or even
text. The GUI just presents data and you should be able to switch the GUI
without re-writing the back end or at least that is the concept that I have
been working on.
