So continuing:
Build the VIOS, all four of 'em, no sweat. Update VIOS also very easy.
Now try to build the IBM i partitions. Managing the profile. Has IBM
even bothered to Alpha test this crap?
Windows jump around and size themselves so not all the data fits. Fix the
window size and then when you put the cursor on it and click to gain focus,
bam, it resizes again.
Error messages that for about 2 seconds are valid until you fill in the
second WWPN will not go away, you have to bail out of the dialog and come
back in to clear.
Things do not save when they should. (even when the explicit "save"
button is pushed.
What would have been done in about 45 minutes in the old interface has now
taken nearly six hours because this idiotic interface does not work
properly. And that's with IBM i on a SAN. I'd hate to think what it looks
like with IBM i hosting IBM i. I'm going to find out soon since I'll be
installing one of those next week.
Hey IBM. Test the )(*&(^&%*&$&$&$%&*() HMC code BEFORE you ship it.
Better yet, give me back the old interface that A) worked, B) was not
confusing as hell, and C) was actually productive......
