It should take just seconds. They are formatted during the CRTNWSSTG so during the install nearly zero time is required.

IF you are re-using an NWSSTG object that was previously used then it WILL re-format during the install. On 10K Drives and 600GB (VERY big IMHO) I would expect this to take SEVERAL hours, 6 to 10 even.
