Kevin, I *love* PASE and yum and all the open source availability on the i.

Developing this two-tier stuff is only possible because of that.

And who can live without a good GNU grep?

No, I'm *not* an opponent of having a PASE environment on IBM i, I use it
daily, for hours.

I just think the best way to deploy a modernization web app (other than
pure green-screen scraping) is two-tier.
