I have seen that. Since we had no web service running on the newer box I
was trying to avoid building a web service just for this. However, it
looks like the way I will be going. I was hoping to find other solutions
that I could accomplish in pure RPGLE. The run remote command is also a
possibility. But I think the reverse proxy may be more flexible as we may
have to modify other programs if we do not get upgraded soon.

Now that you have spelled out _what_ problem you are trying to solve,
rather than asking _how_ to accomplish a particular method to resolve
the perceived problem, (e.g. a "remote procedure call" of some sort),
