You do not need to pay any extra to replace the green screen with the web for your users.   There is a learning to do, once you learn enough to do basic web programs, you will never want to develop  a green screen application again.  And your users will not want it either.

Go hybrid, do some easy esquire programs to replace a frequently used green screen.  Don has mention the 80 / 20 rule.  You do not need to replace all at once. Do not even try.

functionality is best integrated at a low level in the OS, not as a
generic API in order to get the best integration, debugging and
performance.
