60% markup seems reasonable just to be able to tell the boss and auditors
you have support.
Then again, I think Apache 2.2 and Java 6 (?) go end of support in Dec 2017
(ig I have the detaisl right) so if you use those, I am guessing there is
no support regrdless of the V7R1 situation.
Definitely time to abandon the V7R1 ship as fast and as completely as
possible.

Yeah, extended support for 7.1 will be costly, but offered. He's more
concerned about parts availability for his 550's which go EOS on
12/31/18.

You could have heard a pin drop when I told him that's the same date as
my
EOS. 45 years will be more than enough.

Do you see that even being offered? I know they traditionally have,
but,
if you've noticed extended support for V5R4 and 6.1 are both
approaching
EOL. Perhaps they're getting tired of that offering?

I'm calling FUD here. The conversations I have had with IBM they have
stated
it will be offered.
