Yeah, extended support for 7.1 will be costly, but offered. He's more
concerned about parts availability for his 550's which go EOS on 12/31/18.

You could have heard a pin drop when I told him that's the same date as my
EOS. 45 years will be more than enough.

Do you see that even being offered? I know they traditionally have, but,
if you've noticed extended support for V5R4 and 6.1 are both approaching
EOL. Perhaps they're getting tired of that offering?


I'm calling FUD here.The conversations I have had with IBM they have stated
it will be offered.
