I got this error the first time I tried it also. What I found by
Googling is advice to change the *job* CCSID, and leave the statement
alone:

If it's something you'll be doing a lot, and you don't want to change
the system value or your user profile, then I would create a wrapper
for it which sets the CCSID and submit that.
