Fixes are listed under the main version just like the HMC fixes are.

What do I tell fix central in order to get the fix for VIOS?
Product selector and all.
I looked at
PowerVM Virtual I/O Server
Installed version 2.2.5.10
That just pushes VIOS 2.2.5.20. And since 2.2.5.10 is hit or miss on that
fix being in there I don't want to assume that simply upgrading to
2.2.5.20 will guarantee that I have that fix.

FixCentral is where you source it from.

The ECA calls for the firmware to be updated first since the new card will
not run on the old firmware. Then the card will be replaced. That will
most likely require downtime. The existing card actually has a
significant fault in it that can only be factory updated. The firmware
patches the card to avoid very unpleasant problems in between the firmware
update and the card replacement. Since the firmware will be the same on
all
of the cards at that point there should not be any RAID rebuild or other
unhappy situations when the cards are replaced, although I have seen RAID
rebuilds.

I've done four of these already with three more planned in the very near
future. Mostly harmless, but VIOS does increase the complexity some.

I don't even know where to download it from.

There is some discussion on card replacement going on but I get confused.
Like, if I have to upgrade the firmware on the cards why do they need
replaced after that?
