Again, isn't this thread about sending email directly from IBM i? What does
reading from IBM i have to do with it?

In this case it was directly instead of using a mail relay to handle the
limitations of the IBM i SMTP system (vs a 3rd party product).

Not sending directly using your IBM i as the email server itself.
