The IBM i SMTP client is pretty basic. It mostly handles socket-to-socket
(client-to-server) communications (it sends email). That's all that most
shops need.


Again, this is incorrect. I don't think you quite understand yet the
purpose of a mail relay/router that most shops DO use and how to set that
up with your IBM i to send emails.

But, I am done with this. I think in the other email I provided MORE than
enough information.
