You should be able to do some tinkering and force the HMC to use the
firmware from a normal x3550 server (be it M1/2/3/4/5 don't remember which
CRX correlates to with MX) In fact I think that is the only way to update
the fw on the HMC; change the model to the xseries one, run BOMC disk, back
to the HMC model. Same as when replacing a board. Not for the faint of
heart since you have to play with the ASU tool and mucking with those
values can brick the UEFI (haven't bricked any but you could theoretically).
So, with that in place, why is IBM saying "do not use IMM2"? it should be
fixed for the normal server and therefore for the HMC ones as well since
they use the same one.

Just musing around.

You can check the HMC status from the the IBM i.

call matmatr with hex 0204 or 0206

you get returned HMCStat:

The values of HMC connection state can be
1 = the HMC is connected
2 = the HMC is temporarily disconnected
3 = the HMC is permanently disconnected
4 = the HMC is not communicating

All our iSeries LPAR reported multiple temperature alarms, SRC11007201 -
AMBTEMP.
Cannot currently access our HMC remotely via WEB interface..
I think it may have shut down, due to high temperature.
Data Center was over 100, temp coming back down.
Any other ways to remotely check HMC.

Thank You
