Well I certainly wouldn't hold my breath expecting IBM to modify IBM i to work on native 512Byte block disks from third party vendors!

Additional native support for IBM i will appear for V7000/3700 but I'm guessing that will be the same sort of support in DS8000 where the SAN can present 520 byte blocks to IBM i and thus 'problem solved.'

The third party folks will need to make their own modifications.
