Our tech folks are starting to roll out 64-bit Windows 7 PC's with the
iSeries Access emulator, version 5.9. They have set them up with the
workstation-id to use the computer name and have checked the checkbox
"avoid duplicate names on this workstation". There is a single desktop
icon that they use to open up one or more sessions. The system adds a
letter to the end of the workstation id to create the session name. The
problem is that it's not re-using device names when they close and re-open
a session. I have also found that the system shows that each one is still
at "signon screen" instead of "varied on". Still, if I vary off/on the
devices it won't re-use them. We are on V5R4. Thoughts?
