Many of the barcode solutions require significant investment in a base unit
and custom programming to capture information into your applications.

You didn't specify how you plan to use the barcode scanner, but I'm guessing
that you need to scan barcodes into a AS/400 - iSeries - System i - IBM i
green-screen application that is being accessed from a PC that is using 5250
emulation.

This particular Symbol scanner appears to be able to interface to the PC via
a keyboard wedge.

Because it is wedged through the keyboard interface, NO additional
programming is necessary - you just have to have the green-screen
application running with the cursor located in the screen field where the
barcoded data will be captured...
