I wasn't following the other thread so thanks for the subject change.
I'm not aware of any Windows setting to "auto-click", so I offer the
following:

1. This really belongs in PC Tech so any response after this, please
move the thread there.
2. If using the glide pad it's possible that it's sensitivity is too
high. If you use the buttons and don't tap the pad I'd suggest
disabling the tap-to-click function. Control Panel - Mouse to adjust
settings.
3. Also I'd suggest trying an external mouse to see if the problem
exists with it.
4. Dell/Alps does update touchpad drivers from time to time; maybe check
for newer drivers (even if the machine is new they often ship with
months-old drivers).
