The 40MB Cache controller in the Base is the same controller that is in
the 520 today. They have not downsized it at all. per the call this am,
with the 40MB controller running the 1st 4 drives in Raid5 and the 2nd
controller (90MB cache) running the 2nd set of 4 drives using Raid5 the
system( 515, 520 or 525) can handle around 700 disk I/Osec before becoming
constrained. 'YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY' This is not a change from the 520
and was true last week before these announcements. I don't 'THINK' IBM
has in the past. pointed this out as clearly as they did today.

IBM HIGHLY RECOMMENDS using the sizing tools like WLE etc and not just
going on CPW. Per the announcement the 515 does support External I/O
towers and therefore supports a maximum of 8 drives. So if disk arms are a
concern then you will need a 520 or higher (525, 550 etc)
