Rob, Do you relly want your FSPs at different levels? This to me sounds like two versions of Order Entry out there both pounding on the same set of files. If the versions are different would you not expect them to behave differently? If so what happens to your data, can it even be predicted? As the FSPs are in control of the heart of your machine would you not want them doing exactly and I do mean EXACTLY the same thing? If they were different then I would expect a cold frame reboot to switch between them and that can be done today between the "T" and "P" sides even on a single FSP machine. For them to fail over they need to be completely and totally in sync or as we have so often heard: "Unpredictable results will occur." (And it is highly unlikly these results would be good.) - Larry -----midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: ----- To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> From: rob@xxxxxxxxx Sent by: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx Date: 01/31/2007 08:16AM Subject: RE: i5 Firmware to HMC Code level table? Yeah, and what really irks me is that even with redundant FSPs you still have to upgrade both FSPs at the same time. Thus, you still have the downtime.
