I was NOT defending the use of SEU. Those of you that support WDSc, should go forward and continue to push for more great products like this from IBM.
Pat, Remember that this mailing list is like monitoring a customer support forum. You will see a lot more complaints, and requests for help than messages that say "it's working perfectly, I love it, I don't have any problems." I just switched to WDSC in the last few months. I had tried with WDSC V5, and was discouraged by the instability, and the changes required in the LPEX editor compared to SEU (I have over 20 years experience with various 5250 editors, starting with the S/34 and S/36). Now that I have switched over, I enjoy the increase in the 'window' into the program source, along with the outline view showing the files and fields in the file. I don't think I've lost any source changes, although I do sometimes question the productivity gains when I'm fighting with the debugger, or exploring other features.
