We also have our system configured to verify the system date using SNTP and I've been told that the SNTP server we point to will move the clock back automatically too...
The SNTP protocol communicates all timestamps in UTC. It has no notion of timezones, daylight savings time, or summer time. It won't change the time on your clock (unless you change QUTCOFFSET/QTIMZON prior to changing the time zone, but don't also change the time to match -- then the CLIENT (not the server!) would detect your clock being off, and would adjust the time accordingly)
