Hi, Rob: I ran the following from QSYSOPR, where device TAP01 is a 3570 and TAP03 is an 8 mm. SBMJOB CMD(DUPTAP FROMDEV(TAP01) TODEV(TAP03) FROMSEQNBR(*ALL) FROMENDOPT(*UNLOAD) CHECK(*NO)) JOB(DUPLICATET) I received the message CPA6799 with selected text: Cause . . . . . : File SAVLIBS from sequence number 1 on volume TP30 on device TAP01 was not duplicated to device TAP03 volume 999999. The file was not duplicated because the block size of file SAVLIBS was 262144 and is not supported on device TAP03 which has a maximum block size of 245760. Recovery . . . : Files on this volume may have block sizes less than or equal to 245760 that can be duplicated. To duplicate these files, reply I to ignore [snip] (The ". . . :" in line five is as generated, not edited.) I responded with "I" and the results were the job ended abnormally with no files copied. This agrees with my recollection of previous attempts. Perhaps I need to back up a step and deal with block sizes at the point when the source tape is being created? Darrell Darrell A. DUPTAP works fine. Don't worry about the drives having different sector
sizes, media types, etc. We used to do this all the time. This was on
a
machine that used to have reel-to-reel, 8mm, 1/4" cartridge, 3570 and 3590. Now were pretty much an all 3582 shop. Rob Berendt
