Yes. But if you are at v5r4, then you can create a virtual tape assuming you have enough free DASD. Then, DUPTAP FROMDEV(TAP01) TODEV(TAPVRT01) Put in you new blank tape.. DUPTAP FROMDEV(TAPVRT01) TODEV(TAP01) If you decide to start doing this all the time, consider doing the original save to the virtual tape. It should be* faster than saving to the physical tape. * - Depends on your physical tape, DASD config, and card/bus config.
