Good luck.. sounds like it's flat out not working (instead of not being
able to tell if it's working or not).  Maybe demand that they bring a new
FC1827 cable with them... they shouldn't have a problem with that.  I'd
also try to coordinate with one of the Rochester UPS feature gurus to be
available for a phone call when the CE comes... tell 'em you're tired of
jumping thru hoops on this one.

When it's working, try unplugging/replugging the cable... it should be easy
to tell if it's attached at that point.

I got a program from another subscriber that uses an API to retrieve some
UPS bits.  It shows that the i5 does _not_ think the UPS is attached.

And I went through that whole power down/unplug thing many months back.

Guess I'll call my CE.
