The system wouldn't react that way with just the UPS signal cable being
unplugged though, would it? It would just send the cable no longer
attached type message, right? It would take a utility power failed message
or a battery weak condition exists to trigger the shutdown driven by the
QUPSDLYTIM value... I think...

Before you go too crazy with the plug-unplug thing make sure that your
QUPSDLYTIM isn't set at 0 or you'll get an immediate PWRDWNSYS when you
pull the cable. Make sure it's set MUCH higher than the amount of time
you expect the cable to be unplugged!
