I do not believe that they will be deleted when the system is IPLed if you 
turn autoconfig off.  Autoconfig, under the covers, does a DLTDEVD and the 
appropriate CRTDEV... command.  Found this out when I renamed CRTDEVDSP to 
really turn off autoconfig and the boss changed out a system console with 
a different model.  Old device was deleted but it could not create a new 
device.  He promptly had me rename the command back.
